When I painted time,
And mapped out seasons
When I sketched days,
And stretched out poles
When I colour’d the night,
And twinkled the ether
And foamed the seas
And trimmed the lea
And vexed the gale
And freed the dew
And sunned the day.
When I ensigned across the wet sky,
And made a standard with the spectrum.
When I doled out dominion
When I gave it all to you.
